One of the most successful stories for a Product Hunt launch is Robinhood, a cost-free and commission-free brokerage app that facilitates investments without additional costs for every closed deal. They can contribute to the final development of their favorite apps and tools via reviews and comments, engage actively with makers, and learn technical details. Regular users can also discover and test new apps and tools first hand. These early supporters form a base of users and provide valuable feedback regarding your product’s functionality. Good day ! Thank you for taking the time to come back and update your review with the new app. So basically the new app is not ADA compliant. Ok so appending for the new app that seems to have corrected for some of the issues with the old app so far, but now that new app can’t seem to handle accessibility settings for larger text in iOS. I often read the list in places that require quiet and now wind up scrambling to stop the video and/or kill the volume Here’s 3 reasons why.ġ) for years across multiple devices the app randomly gives JSON errors pulling the list that requires it to be killed and restarted 2) when you scroll deep in the list it refreshes causing you to have to start back again from the top making it nearly impossible to go back far in time 3) they now have added auto playing videos without adding any way in settings to stop that. In desert regions, this plant will suffer greatly. Indian Paintbrush can easily survive cold winters, but it doesn’t like intense heat. These areas tend to have moderate humidity and temperatures. Indian Paintbrush thrives in mid-western prairies, meadows, grasslands, and even some mountainous regions. They still prefer moist soil but will continue to grow even if conditions become dry. In its second year, however, Indian Paintbrushes become hardy and drought-tolerant. During the first year of life, Indian Paintbrushes need regular watering. The water needs for Indian Paintbrush vary based on where the plant is in its lifecycle. So, it’s best to plant Indian Paintbrush amongst lower laying plants, such as grasses, which won’t block the sunlight. Shade of any type will inhibit its bright blooms. Indian Paintbrush thrives in sunny spaces. It’s a true wildflower that cannot be controlled. However, its unpredictable nature is part of this plant’s charm. It’s unclear why Indian Paintbrush thrives some years and seems to fail in others, even in the exact location. Though we know a lot about the Indian Paintbrush, we don’t know everything. Grasses that Indian Paintbrush will do well with include blue-eyed grass, bluebonnet, and beardtongue. Its hemiparasitic nature does mean that it’s best to plant Indian Paintbrush near other grasses native to its natural habitat. Usually, though, this parasitic activity does not harm the host plant. In other words, this plant burrows its roots into the roots of nearby plant systems to get the nutrients it needs. Typically, gardeners and landscape designers grow this plant from seed by sowing in early spring.įrom there, the Indian Paintbrush will grow quickly and is technically a hemiparasite. But for a natural, meadow-like aesthetic, it’s a trendy plant. Indian Paintbrush doesn’t do well in trimmed, manicured gardens. Indian Paintbrush also features seasonal blooms that tend to be red or yellow-tipped, but they’re less showy than the bracts and easily missed. We say bracts instead of blooms because technically, the bright-colored ends to the plants are a type of modified leaves rather than petals. That means that it takes two years to complete a growing cycle, after which the plant will die. This plant is also known as Scarlett Painted Cup or Prairie Fire, thanks to its red, orange, and yellow bracts. Indian Paintbrush ( Castilleja Coccinea) creates colorful wildflowers native to prairies and grasslands throughout North and South America. “But if you were to ask people here if they want to get rid of them tomorrow, no way. “Everyone here is a bit afraid of them and we know they are a social problem,” says Noraldo Garzón, who runs the local shop in Estación Cocorna. Just 10 miles west of Las Angelitas, where the Cocorna river meets the Magdalena, residents have more affection for the giant mammals. Often we simply can’t go out at night to fish any more as it’s too dangerous and there is less to catch as the hippos scare them away,” he says. Metre-wide muddy trenches in the grassy riverbank less than a hundred metres from Zapata’s family home mark where the hippos regularly slide into the waters to cool off. They avoid fishing in the same area if the hippos are around and leave a light on outside at night to stop them tipping their boats over or making unwanted house visits.īut as the population grows its impact is increasingly difficult to manage. Now eight hippos live nearby, and the local community has had to learn ways to avoid deadly confrontations. The first two hippos that made their homes in Las Angelitas in 2016 were largely peaceful but a year later the pair had their first calf and quickly became territorial and aggressive. Please, if other countries can help, take them all.” “It would be a great relief,” Zapata says from the porch of his riverside wooden house by the river. The government of Antioquia state in north-west Colombia says it is negotiating with a park in India, where it plans to send 60 of the beasts, and a sanctuary in Mexico, where it wants to ship 10. Like Escobar’s cocaine, they hope Pablo’s pets can be shipped abroad. Now the regional government wants to try a new strategy. It continues to sterilise the hippos, but they are breeding faster than local experts can find, catch and castrate them. It tried culling the animals in 2009 but had to stop after a graphic photo caused national outrage. Since the hippos escaped after the capo’s death in 1993, the government has repeatedly failed to tame the booming population who have made the Magdalena River basin their new home. The hippo that sauntered into the river that day is one of scores that can be traced back to the drug lord, who imported four of the giant mammals from Africa to join the giraffes, camels, ostriches and other exotic animals in the menagerie at his lavish Hacienda Nápoles estate in the 1980s. But like previous chapters of Colombia’s 30-year saga with Pablo Escobar’s hippos, what started as a curious and exotic experiment eventually became a plague and source of division. Best laptops for graphic design (opens in new tab): Top devices to run your desktop publishing software. As part of our review process, we’ve explored how easy it is to use each magazine maker app, cross-platform compatibility, and pricing. We’ve tested the best desktop publishing software for all print designers - whether you’re an experienced editor or new to the art. Employing a simple grid system, the tools let you add and position content blocks for copy and images, so what you see on-screen precisely matches what you get when you get your product back from the printers. The specialized graphic design software for page layout design - sometimes shortened to DTP software - encourages creativity, while ensuring every aspect of the work is in proportion and color-accurate. And while popular online design apps like Canva help streamline designs, they lack the full control offered by the best desktop publishing software. So often, images bleed over the edge, photos lack resolution, or text boxes result in chasms of negative space and misalignment. If you’ve ever tried using a word processor or photo editor to create assets, you’ll know it can be a challenge to perfect a design. The problem with that moment is it is so strong it often obscures all the groundwork that made it possible in the first place. School is ultimately what they are training for, so it is naturally when they feel the magical ‘Aha!’ moment. Of course they do, that is when they put their learning into practice, that is when they are in the situation they are aiming to work in. So when do the ‘Aha!’ moments of student teachers happen? In school. The moment when a series of learning events fall into place and success is finally achieved is a magical one, which propels many people to follow a career in teaching after they see it in a young person. Ask any teacher why they do it and they often start talking about the ‘Aha!’ moments, the moments when learners and they themselves finally get something they have been working on. In a conversation with my colleague Steve Caldock I came across a possible reason why. I believe that it is hugely important, and I will explore why in a later post, but I am very interested in why it is that many teachers see the practical training as so much more important than the wider education. It is not universal, but not at all unusual, to hear teachers saying they learnt far more in the classroom than in their time in University, that trainee teachers should spend more time in school, or even that academic study for teachers is a waste of time. As someone who is responsible for some of the University element of Initial Teacher Education, it troubles me immensely that so many teachers seem to have very little respect for the University element of the courses they studied. I’m excited about which colors they think of next to add to the list of sheening inks! It’s easy to see why it’s loved by so many. Yet the one that started it all, Organics Studio Nitrogen ink, is a brilliant royal blue. Other ink brands followed suit, like Diamine’s InkVent inks, Robert Oster’s Fire & Ice, Monteverde’s California Teal, and Colorverse Quasar to name a few. Organics Studio sheening inks have five color choices so far: Nitrogen Royal Blue, Henry David Thoreau Walden Pond Blue, Ralph Waldo Emerson Twilight Blue, Ernest Hemingway Santiago’s Sea Blue, and Aldous Huxley Old World Blue. The sheen itself is a result of dye used in the fountain pen ink crystalizing onto the paper. Whether you use an extra fine nib all the way through double broad or specialty nibs, the effect created is different from all other inks. Also known as “sheen monsters”, these are very cool to see on paper. After that, Organics Studio (Tyler’s fountain pen bottled ink company) created a whole series of sheening inks. Highly saturated inks tend not to shade at all, as there are greater concentrations of dyes or pigments in the inks. There seems to be a propensity for light-colored inks to experience more shading than dark inks. “Sheening” inks are called that simply because of how the light sheens uniquely off of the ink. It can appear very stark in inks with high shading, or as a faint gradient in inks with low shading. These inks are free flowing, write smoothly, and can be used in your favorite fountain or rollerball pen. Almost a decade ago, a local (to Maryland) organic chemistry major, Tyler Thompson, changed the ink industry forever (see the Washington Post article here). Finding the newest color or something more unique is like finding treasure. When you don’t want to spend money on a new pen, the next best thing is new inks to fill your pens with. A huge trend among fountain pen enthusiasts is collecting bottles of ink. You can accomplish this all in one round. All while healing 6 (8 with RS) hp because of Lingering Essence and refueling your SE by 2 while also fueling your card draw engine of Confluence of Fate & Scriptures of the Righteous. This leaves enough resources usually to still play a Smite or Righteous Strike raising the dmg to 13 or 12 in one round with no allies. If you have enough SE and a Sever Ties you can play Embers 2x doing 8dmg plus 2 dmg for having IOA and Embers only costs 1 resource to play with Divine. I have several times gotten massive dmg in one round by having Divine Connection and Incense of Atonement in play however. I would definitely not have a chance against another solo deck. Just something I was messing around with and realized I was winning a lot with it. And for that matter,IoA.Thanks for your feed back. Deck is too fat at 50 cards and full of stuff you don't need like Divine. The are many great synergies with these cards - please let me know your ideas and thoughts.īut seriously.the only attachments you have besides holy shield are attachments to your hero.besides embers of course. Smite & Righteous Strike just add to the power of the deck and can increase the dmg output in any particular round if you have the resources - which you will. Forgiveness allows you to sac cards early on then bring them back later if you need one of them. Robes of Mending are good at canceling out Confluence of Fate, which combined with Scriptures of the Righteous gives you great card draw. You still have a properly timed Tidal Wave if you need a board clear and Voice of Winter to by you time. You can also use Sever Ties while waiting for your shadow energy to get back to 4. You can use Sever Ties in the same round to make it a total of 8 dmg plus the damage from activating Incense of Atonement if there are at least two opposing allies in play (and healing 6 hp in the process ). Doing this will allow you to do 4 damage which i almost always direct toward the opposing hero while it also sets the ally it was attached to ablaze ( activating Lingering Essence also for destorying the attachment ). The goal is to hit opposing allies with Embers of the Just (activating Incense of Atonement ) when your shadow energy is at least 3 - 4 and then use Jericho 's ability to destroy Embers of the Just. After this you can play how ever you need to - this deck is very flexible. This is what I try for - its the most optimal order to play these cards if you get the right draw. The idea behind this deck is to use Embers of the Just to defeat your opponent. It's a solo Jericho deck based on heavy use of destroying attachments. I've never posted before but this deck has been doing great for me and I wanted to share it.Try it out - let me know what you think. The weird news: the cockroaches are also invited, and up to no good again, as usual. The good news: Oggy is having a birthday party, and Jack's invited (he stackschampagne glasses for the party). Using a photocopier, Oggy shrinks himself down to the cockroaches' size in order to infiltrate their home and take back the key to his padlocked fridge. Oggy is sleepwalking, and to make matters worse, the cockroaches are around to sabotage the skyscraper at all costs. But the problems are just getting started. However, when helping in the making of this building, Oggy experiences a complete acrophobia until Jack helps to get him to sleep. Jack is building a skyscraper in Oggy's back garden. Oggy and Jack were washing clothes and dishes for chores but, for obvious reasons, the cockroaches crank Oggy's coffee up QUITE a notch as to make Oggy do everything very fast. Unfortunately the cockroaches have changed Jack's medicine for a concoction of their own. Jack ends up frozen in a block of ice while chasing the cockroaches so Oggy nurses him. Oggy wants to listen to his music CD in peace, but the cockroaches decide to pump up the volume into and beyond acceptable limits. Unfortunately for them, this is going to be easier said than done. The cockroaches decide to jump into Jack's head, take over his brain and control him to wreak havoc all around the place - including Oggy, if necessary. Upon seeing this, Marky and Joey attempt to get past Oggy's newly installed defenses and save their fellow roach by all means, at all costs. that is, if he can take them back from the cockroaches first.Īfter Dee Dee getting himself trapped in a drink bottle, cockroach Dee Dee is kidnapped by Oggy and locked up in the fridge. (Sidenote: The cockroaches laughter in this episode is different, as this is thepilot episode)Īfter making some french fries, Oggy intends on having a well-deserved snack. But the cockroaches (quite obviously) have decided to take it all for themselves. Oggy gets a box of deluxe-chocolate delivered to his house and gets inside to enjoy it.
